Making Spelling Tests- How do my students take the spelling quiz? | How do I review and analyze scores?
Making spelling tests in easy on MrNussbaum.com Premium. If you can get your kids in the computer lab, this is the perfect option for teachers who hate grading spelling tests.
First, click on the "Spelling Tests" tab in the control menu. You will see a section labeled "My Registered Spelling Tests" and another section labeled "Register New Spelling Test". Scroll to "Register New Spelling Test" and enter the name for your spelling test. Next, enter the spelling words separated by commas. See picture below for more details.

When you click "submit," a new page will appear. Scroll down to the section labeled "Deploy my Registered Spelling Test". Select the test name from the first drop down menu, and the class you wish to deploy it to from the second drop down menu and click "deploy". Your spelling test is now ready to be taken. It is important to remember that you must read the words out loud in the order you entered them. Students will type them into the appropriate fields. See below to view the student view.

How do my students take the spelling test?
After you have completed constructing your spelling test, and have deployed it to students it is ready for use. The student will log on as a school user and click on "spelling tests" in the control menu. When the page is accessed, the student will be able to see a gradebook page of all the spelling tests he or she has completed. The student does not have access to the grades of other students. Below the gradebook is a section called "Take Spelling Test ". The student should then select the specific spelling test to be taken from the drop-down menu. You should tell the student the name of the spelling test (e.g. Unit 12, States etc.) After the student is done with the spelling test, he or she should click "submit". The grade will automatically appear in the student and teacher gradebook, along with the other statistics in "Recorded Scores". The student will also see which words were spelled correctly, and which were spelled incorrectly.
How do I review and analyze scores?
After students have finished taking the spelling test you will want to review their scores. First click on "Spelling Tests" from the control menu. Scroll to "My Registered Spelling Tests". Click on "View Gradebook" in the actions section for the spelling test you are interested in. You can sort the gradebook by clicking on the headings. You can sort by highest grades, lowest grades, or ABC order. See below.

You can also view quiz scores and related statistics by clicking on "recorded scores" and then "show scores" next the student you are interested in.
